Mam Tor is hill Castleton in the High Peaks of Derbyshire. Today it provides one of the best views over Hope Valley, with the remnants of the fort still traceable on the hilltop. Take a little look at some of my favourite images from the shoot. Mam Tor in Castleton is the site of a large prehistoric hill fort that once hosted a settlement of Celtic peoples. This location really never fails to amaze me, and it made an incredible back drop for the session.Ĭhris and Liz were an absolute pleasure to photograph, and it was great to get to know them a little better before I capture their big day for them later this year. We took a small trek to the top of Mam Tor, and it felt as though we were on the top of the world! After taking some pictures on the summit, we took a wander down to the nearby Winnat’s pass, which is an incredible gorge towered by vibrant green limestone pinnacles. Walk highlights: Views from Winnats Pass, summiting Mam Tor and views of the Hope Valley from the Great Ridge to Hollins Cross. This time around, it was a balmy summer evening, and the hills were bathed in the most beautiful golden light! I came out here for an engagement shoot back in the winter, and it was a misty, moody and atmospheric day. I love that you can enjoy it all year round, come rain or shine. Both being big fans of walking, and with Mam Tor being one of their favourite spots, we decided to head out to the high peaks and take advantage of the stunning views.
